Holy Spirit Evangelical Lutheran Church is about coming together and serving as one-in-Christ. Our congregation found its birth in the coming together of two Charleston congregations in 2006: St. Andrews Lutheran and Holy Comforter Lutheran. Like Christ and His bride, the Church, we have joined two hearts into one and become a “new creation” in Christ with a mission of loving one another and serving our neighbors throughout the West Ashley area!
Our now combined heart seeks to glorify God, lift Christ high, and depend on His Holy Spirit. As we daily strive to abide in Christ, we celebrate and grow together through worship, Bible study, missions, service and fellowship. We encourage one another to reach out to our neighbors and be an instrument of grace in our neighborhood, community and God’s world.
Our church family is “one body, but it has many parts.” As followers of Christ and baptized in the one Holy Spirit, we recognize our many gifts given to us by God to be used to build up His Church and proclaim the Good News. Our passion is to invite all our neighbors to “come taste and see that the Lord is good” and be “blessed to find refuge in Him.” We call upon our church family to exercise their gifts! And to our neighbors, we welcome to join us as we grow!
Peace and grace,
Pastor Elizabeth Emmanuelle Wilder
